Contessa – Italian-inspired cuisine, brunch & wine offered in an opulent rooftop restaurant with city views.

As the doorman kindly showed us to a separate entrance only for the Contessa guests leading to the gold elevator with a small red sign of “To Contessa“, I turned to my friend and said, “This is so extra.”

After paying a visit to a number of restaurants in Boston for a couple of months I feel like changing scenery to a more glamorous rooftop Italian restaurant with a bit extra service they offered that afternoon. The highly-in-demand legendary ristorante debuted in 2021 on the 17th floor of the reimagined hotel; The Newbury Boston, and quickly claimed its reputation as the most exceptional Italian restaurant in America.

As we were seated at a table for two, I could not help but be in awe and quite impressed by the modern glass terrace that offers sweeping views of the Back Bay. It was elegant, unpretentious, and such an elevated city dining experience. We had Spicy Lobster Capellini and Butter Chicken Sostanza, and they were absolutely divine. What I like about the place is the sun-soaked space perfect for breakfast, brunch, or lunch; by night it will turn into a romantic dinner and bar for your special occasion.

If you are interested to dine in, just remember to reserve beforehand. The restaurant only accepts reservations through email and 30 days in advance on Resy.com (They do not accept reservations by phone).
