fall in boston

As Winter comes to an end, I look back to when Fall began

“The gentle whisper of the leaves, the colorful street that the Mother Nature gracefully painted, and the warm weather with an air that easy to breathe.

That’s what I remember of the last Fall.

The morning that Fall began, I put on my sneakers and shades with an eagerness to run along Charles River Esplanade and enjoy the sun. It is a weekend like this that I’m looking forward to after an intense workload and study all week.

The sound of wind in the tree and the rustling of leaves seemed like a great symphony to me that day. It kept my mind from wandering around to focus on what was in front of me.

“Boston looks lovelier like this.” I kept telling myself while running. Faceless people who roaming around the esplanade might have just the same thought, I guess.

Looking back to that day it was five months ago, but in my mind it feels like just a blink of an eye.

I don’t regret the choices I made in the past. Even sometimes I deemed it not to be a good one, but it was as best as the situation allowed. Those choices and paths I chose prepared me to be the person I am and will be. That’s what I always believe.

As winter comes to an end, I dwell on pieces of great memories I have made and friendships I have cherished ever since I moved here 5 months ago.

This morning when I looked at myself in the mirror, it was the first time in a long while, perhaps forever, I admitted to myself,

“You have grown emotionally and mentally, dear.”
